On 8月18日, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1995 - Writer Matthew Jacobs submitted his second major draft of the script for the 1996 TV movie, drawing on his 18 July one. This time, the Master's plan is to channel the emotional escalation on New Year's Eve through the Eye of Harmony, thereby gaining the capacity to shape the universe to his will. The deceased that previously appeared in earlier drafts no longer did, and the story ended with both companions dying and being revived by the Eye, and the Master getting sucked into the death dimension. A month later, Jacobs submitted a new draft, this time with some drastic changes.
- 2011 - The Big Finish audio story Trail of the White Worm was recorded at Audio Sorcery.
- 2022 - Whilst announcing a new audio series featuring the Eleventh Doctor (beginning with Geronimo!), Big Finish announced that Jacob Dudman would be stepping down from the role.
