Zalaron was a scientist and the director of the Sanmarus Institute. He welcomed the Eighth Doctor, Charley Pollard and C'rizz to the Institute.
When Darrakhaan invaded the Institute to steal the space-time navigator, he shot Zalaron, apparently killing him. However, the navigator had allowed Zalaron to predict what would happen, and he prepared for the event by wearing a personal force shield. (PROSE: Before Midnight)
