This story was never produced.

Therefore, its known narrative elements are not a part of the Doctor Who universe as we, on this Wiki, choose to define it. It may have been the basis for a similar story in another medium, however — and that story may indeed be valid.

A Doctor Who stage play by Ben Aaronovitch and Andrew Cartmel titled either World War (DWMSE 10) or War World was planned in 1988. (DWM 341). Cartmel created the Metatraxi aliens for this story. Its story featured many locations and aliens, centering on the Seventh Doctor and his companion Mallory stopping a Dalek plot to kidnap a 1940s criminal named McBride and turn him into a War Leader computer to lead the Daleks against the Metatraxi. (DWM 341) Due to budget reasons, it was eventually replaced by Terrance Dicks' The Ultimate Adventure. (DOC: The Lost Season, DWMSE 10)
