World Distributors (Manchester), Ltd later to be known as World International, Ltd. were a publisher of Doctor Who Annuals from September 1965 until 1985 (with the exception of the 1971 and 1972 Annuals). They also published the 1970s Dalek annual publications (though they did not have a hand in the Annual-style Dalek books published in the 1960s). They also produced the one-off K-9 Annual, as well as Doctor Who and the Invasion from Space, a 1966 release which was an original novella featuring the Doctor.
The company was formed by three brothers; Sidney, John and Alfred Pemberton following World War II. Together they had started selling second hand books before expanding into the publishing market.[source needed]
