Professor Winser, or Doctor Winser, (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Claws of Axos) was the head of research at the Nuton Power Complex in the 1970s.
Biography[]
Winser was given a sample of Axonite to analyse prior to worldwide distribution, and was adamant that he should be its sole experimenter.
However, when the Third Doctor accidentally triggered its nutrition cycle by subjecting it to a particle accelerator, it broke out and absorbed Winser, killing him. (TV: The Claws of Axos)
Behind the scenes[]
- Early drafts of the script indicate that Winser's first name was Malcolm, but this was never used on-screen or in Terrance Dicks's novelisation of the story.
