Why We Need This Book was a holographic musical stage play artificially generated by the cyborg Archimedes Von Ahnerabe to get Rachel Edwards up to speed on the 10,000 Dawns politicking surrounding the Book of Books, using the likenesses of actors known to and liked by Rachel to depict the characters. It began in the Arbiter of Eternity's throne room with the Arbiter of Knives telling him about her idea to go steal the book, then revealed the consecutive presence of multiple sets of spies with their own designs on the Book: Hyperion and Galvin of the Great Assimilation, Graelyn Scythes and Archimedes Von Ahnerabe of Dawn, and one of the Strid.
