- The Ood are a species of telepathic humanoids native to the Ood Sphere. Their home planet is in the same system as the Sense Sphere, home of the Sensorites. They are part of the Second Great and Bountiful Human Empire.
- Translation devices enable them to talk to other species. The chord linked to the device was originally attached to secondary brain. The organ was sliced off by the humans when processing Oodkind for slavery.
