A Weeping Angel was a survivor of the paradox that was caused by Amy Pond and Rory Williams, which destroyed the Weeping Angels occupying New York City in 1938. After Rory saw his name on his own grave in 2012, the surviving angel sent Rory back in time (TV: The Angels Take Manhattan) as an act of revenge against the Eleventh Doctor for his role in the deaths of so many of its own kind. (PROSE: The Angel of Redemption) Amy decided to let the surviving angel send her back so she could be with Rory. (TV: The Angels Take Manhattan) Taken aback by Amy's self-sacrifice, the Angel grew remorseful and felt empathy for the Doctor given their respective losses. Remaining in the graveyard for some time afterwards, the Angel began to starve. When a child approached it, the Angel was going to send her back in time in order to feed on her potential energy, but spared her.

Telepathically hearing that other Angels were amassing in London to instigate their plan to awaken the dormant Angel in the Doctor's subconscious, the Graveyard Angel travelled to London to stop them, intervening amidst their attack on the Doctor, who elected to trust his remorseful foe. Making contact with the dormant Angel, the Graveyard Angel convinced it to spare the Doctor and to exit his mind, at which point the two Angels deliberately looked at each other and were frozen forever by one another's gaze, leaving them permanently paralysed together, which satisfies their respective loneliness. The Doctor returns to visit them days later and thanks the Graveyard Angel, tacitly forgiving it for the loss of his friends. (PROSE: The Angel of Redemption)
