Web

A web, also called a spider's web or cobweb, was a grid-like design created to trap things. Spiders created webs to catch prey, but the term was also applicable in relation to activities and shapes, as well as organisations or subjects that were widespread. Clark Goodman saw the World Wide Web as a sign of humanity's psychological debt to spiders. (AUDIO: Worldwide Web)

On the Sense Sphere, the First Doctor became caught in a Zilgan's web, but managed to free himself. (PROSE: The Monsters from Earth)

Barbara Wright was caught in a giant web when she decided to be the first to leave the TARDIS. She was freed by the First Doctor just before a large spider arrived. (COMIC: Dr. Who in the Spider's Web)

Daleks lie inactive

Cobwebs around two inactive Daleks. (TV: The Power of the Daleks)

When Morag pushed the First Doctor into the Pit, his fall was broken by a web spun by the spider-like prisoners. They later used the webbing to set a trap for Morag and the other sons of Grekk. (PROSE: The Sons of Grekk)

The Animus was able to generate web and could also create web beings. (TV: The Web Planet, PROSE: Twilight of the Gods) Similarly, the Great Intelligence could create a substance akin to fungus or webbing and sough to envelope the Earth in its great web. (TV: The Web of Fear, HOMEVID: Downtime)

Davros was covered in cobwebs by the time he was rediscovered by the Fourth Doctor. (TV: Destiny of the Daleks)

Parts of the console in the Doctor's TARDIS had cobwebs by the time of his tenth incarnation. He became stuck in one after being shrunk by his micromodulator switch. (COMIC: Which Switch?)

The Time Lords ensured the safety of the Web of Time so as to keep the balance of history. (TV: Attack of the Cybermen)[additional sources needed]

Chaotic time loops could have the appearance of a spiral or web. (AUDIO: Spider's Shadow)
