A spaceship was constructed by the Voords to take them from Marinus to Earth in search of the Great Power. It possessed a lever which would disintegrate the ship when pulled, a room with a transpace radio, and at least one escape capsule. However, it lacked the ability to travel the vast distance in time and space. After forming an alliance with the Daleks, the Voords captured the First Doctor and forced him to reveal the secret of ultkron travel, enabling them to travel faster than the speed of light.
En route, the Doctor unsuccessfully tried to destroy the ship and was ejected into space, but the Daleks secretly rescued him for their own purposes. He later transmitted a warning to the solar system and told the Chief Voord that the Daleks were planning to destroy his people. In the ensuing battle a Dalek raygun hit the ship's power centre, destroying it.
