In October 1947, Martin Revere took his employee Robert Chate to his house in Venice to kill him, however Chate was able to grab Revere's gun before he could shoot him. Chate then accidentally killed Revere in the resulting struggle. Revere's house faced the beach and was a reasonable distance from the main commercial area in Venice.
