Welcome to the Wiki-wordmark OncomingStorm12th

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Images and perspective Edit

Thank you for your recent image additions. Unfortunately, I had to remove many of them because they violated our policy on image perspective. Specifically, out-of-universe promotional images and concept art can't go on in-universe pages. Please read through that policy for a better understanding. Thanks! P&P talk contribs 23:33, January 23, 2016 (UTC)

Hi again. I had to delete many of the images you recently uploaded from The Celestial Toymaker, because they were watermarked from the website where you found them. In general, we don't use images from other websites, instead preferring screenshots taken from stories, because it's easier to verify that they aren't promotional images and avoids things like these watermarks.
Also, many of them were too big. We try to keep images under 100 kb. Thanks! P&P talk contribs 03:55, January 30, 2016 (UTC)

Your input would be nice Edit

Hello OncomingStorm12th, I understand that you are one of the driving forces behind DWLegacy wikia. Your input at the Legacy inclusion debate would be nice. Three heads are better than two. The Champion of Time 01:51, March 10, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks Edit

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to File:TardisQuizGraphic.jpg. Sorry you had to see that awful image. The file has been protected and the user banned. P&P talk contribs 23:34, May 15, 2016 (UTC)

It's ok. I only hope that not much people have seen it as well (and that whoever did it won't simply create another account and do stuff like that again) OncomingStorm12th 00:16, May 16, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for all the Pictures! Edit

Hi OncomingStorm12th, is it okay if you could add Category:The Fourth Wall comic story images to all the pictures you just uploaded from that story? Could you also rewrite Natalie (The Fourth Wall) in past tense and refer to the Twelfth Doctor as "the Twelfth Doctor". C o T 20:53, May 26, 2016 (UTC)

POT and forums Edit

Hey, I tried posting your message on the forum post, but it didn't work (twice). Weirdly, a test message did work. I'll keep at it, and if it continues to fail to work, I'll get in touch with User:CzechOut. Thanks! Shambala108 01:19, July 5, 2016 (UTC)

Re: speedy renames Edit

Hi! If you'll notice, the speedy rename tag does allow for moving the links.

It goes like this:

  • new= the new page name
  • links= yes if you changed the links, no if you didn't
  • user= your user name

If you change the links yourself, it's more likely the page will be renamed by an admin sooner. However, if it seems that no one has moved the page after some time, you can ask me (I won't speak for the other admins) to do it. I check the list when I can, but sometimes I don't get to it when I've got other things going. Thanks! Shambala108 23:59, July 11, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Legacy characters Edit

Hi! I don't really feel comfortable answering that question, because I am not familiar with the game. It's probably better to ask User:CzechOut. Sorry for the inconvenience! Shambala108 04:01, July 21, 2016 (UTC)

Classic Doctors, New Monsters Edit

As the template text on {{speedy rename}} says, it's intended for "obvious, non-controversial errors". This is not one of those cases. Is it "1" or "01" (from the website) or "One" (from the cover)? Should there be a colon before the volume number, a la The First Doctor: Volume One (audio anthology)? I'm not questioning the need for a rename, merely switching to the more appropriate template. The Churchill Years should also have a regular rename, I'll fix that. P&P talk contribs 17:55, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

Rockefeller Center image Edit

Hi! I understand why you're changing my images in general and know which policy you're following. I many cases, your ideas of picture composition are better than mine. But for the Rockefeller Center, this image should not be used because this is not the Rockefeller Center. This is the apartment building on the Upper East Side where Dorothy Bell lives. Note that neither Cindy Wu nor Gabby Gonzalez came to the Rockefeller Center. Note also that the subway station and the street sign a couple of panels before this put this place at roughly 96th Street and [Lexi]ngton Avenue, which is very far from the actual position of the Rockefeller Center (which is not stated in the DWU yet, to the best of my knowledge).

I did try to find a widescreen image but failed. The only other idea I had was the image from the top-right corner of p. 8 of issue 11. But it shows the lower part of the building, which is too generic, even with the art-nouveau elements. From that image, this landmark would be totally unrecognisable. Amorkuz 19:22, August 25, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, you apparently saw that before me. For some reason I only got a notification about the first change, but not the second. Amorkuz 19:25, August 25, 2016 (UTC)

Section links Edit

Legacy (video game)#Bigger on the Inside will take you directly to that section. [[Article#Section name]], always. :)
× SOTO (//) 21:54, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

Ah. Don't overuse this trick, but you can add {{!}} and then what you want to display, so it'll end up being:
|only = Legacy (video game)#Bigger on the Inside {{!}} Bigger on the Inside
× SOTO (//) 22:11, September 7, 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. That should be fixed now.
× SOTO (//) 22:47, September 7, 2016 (UTC)
Oh, and in the meantime, P&P goes ahead and makes a redirect. Still fixed, though.
× SOTO (//) 22:49, September 7, 2016 (UTC)

POT pages Edit

'Salright. Thanks for putting in the work that you have. Those pictures will be much appreciated when we make separate pages for the comic stories, so keep on keepin' on. :)
× SOTO (//) 02:27, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Prisoners of Time Edit

I was planning on changing the links first, then moving the pages over the redirects. The redirects just make sure the links are still functional before the pages are moved. If you have enough familiarity with the stories, you can help change links at Special:WhatLinksHere/Prisoners of Time (comic story). P&P talk contribs 13:52, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Class (series 1) pageEdit

Because of two reasons.

  • Number 1) Because this Wikia do not consider "doctorwho.tv" as a valid source. Personally, I couldn't agree with you more on that. But this Wikia does not. For that reason, you'll have to find another source, one that this Wikia consider valid. Uneditable and not fan-created.
  • Number 2) The information should not be included on the Series 1 (Class)-page. That page is solely for information regarding Series 1. Do instead add the information on the Class (TV series)-page. That page is for all information regarding the spin-off, no matter the medium. Thank you. :) --DCLM 18:46, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
Check out "Template:S9 instructions". Specifically -->> Under no circumstance should information be added here which is derived from some fan's blog, a Gallifrey Base thread, or even a slick-looking news site like doctorwhotv.co.uk, which is actually just a fan site. --DCLM 19:06, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
Seems like I made a mistake. I got them mixed up as being the same one. I apologize for that. But my second point still stands. It belong on the "Class (TV series)" page, not "Series 1 (Class)". Thanks. --DCLM 19:20, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
Reason for that is that the stories are set during the series in question. We don't know anything about these new books except for name. They could be set at a completely different time for what we know. --DCLM 19:34, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Comic image categories Edit

Thanks for all your help with the POT stuff. Just a reminder when creating comic story image categories: they should have {{ImageLinkComics}} and {{TitleSort}} placed on the category pages. Thanks! P&P talk contribs 21:27, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Character identities Edit

Hey. In regards to your POT edits, you shouldn't pipe switch a character's identity away, like you did with Adam Mitchell. Information from later stories can and should be integrated into earlier story articles. It would be incorrect to not mention the lady in the garden is the Master on the page for Deep Breath, for example, or for the And You Will Obey Me article to omit the reveal from The Two Masters. P&P talk contribs 03:26, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

The Whispering Gallery Edit

T:MAGS sets out guidelines for naming and numbering articles for publications with multiple issues, which is not this situation. There is absolutely no reason a one-shot comic needs two separate pages. P&P talk contribs 04:00, October 10, 2016 (UTC)

The American Adventures Edit

It's been out a while mate, people have been talking about it on the forums for a while. I've just checked Amazon and the Kindle version is available now, and the release date was 6 Oct. I've restored the page for you. --Revan\Talk 16:32, October 23, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Plagiarism Edit

Basically, we only want original content on the wiki. That means we don't copy from anywhere, BBC or otherwise. Shambala108 00:04, October 24, 2016 (UTC)

Links Edit

Hi pal, would you be able to direct me to which links were not removed on the 2015 BBC Christmas ident. Thanks 😊 DENCH-and-PALMER 07:29, October 24, 2016 (UTC)

Bots Edit

I've got a bot, you know, and I tend to be more active lately than user:CzechOut. If you have any more bot requests, your best bet is to come to me. In case you're wondering, though, I already fixed the April links anyway.

Hello Edit

Thanks for the help pal, as a favour, would you be able to tell me the remaining pages which need the link removing from, best wishes. DENCH-and-PALMER 16:27, October 24, 2016 (UTC)

Judoon redirect Edit

I apologise. That problem you report was entirely in error, as I somehow managed to misspell "Nineteenth". I assure you that is not what normally happens when you retain a redirect? That was a double redirect, with the final destination at the wrong title.

To answer your original question, though, I kept the redirect because "19th" is just as valid to search under if you were trying to find it. We want people to be able to find the page.
× SOTO (//) 00:58, October 25, 2016 (UTC)

Infobox Merchandise Edit

The infobox you seek doesn't exist (yet). I will gladly create one if you can give me a list of the parameters such an infobox will need.
× SOTO (//) 00:20, October 26, 2016 (UTC)

Forgot to tell you. She's all yours: Template:Infobox Merchandise. Let me know if you want anything else added.
× SOTO (//) 01:01, October 26, 2016 (UTC)
Took me forever to find the place to add the new preload, but it's there now. You should be seeing it pop up in standard preloads soon. Also, {{Infobox Organisation}} absolutely exists.
× SOTO (//) 01:49, October 26, 2016 (UTC)
Clear your cache, and it'll be there.
× SOTO (//) 01:50, October 26, 2016 (UTC)
K.O. I've added that one as well.
× SOTO (//) 02:26, October 26, 2016 (UTC)
I added three soundcloudclip variables and one soundcloudbts. I personally think three might be a bit excessive, but it's what you asked for.
× SOTO (//) 03:55, October 29, 2016 (UTC)

Infobox Company Edit

My, you're really into infoboxes these days, aren't you? No, there is not currently such an infobox, but I'll late you know when it's created.
× SOTO (//) 21:30, November 9, 2016 (UTC)

There you go: {{Infobox Company}}
I've done one on Big Finish Productions to give you an idea of how it looks filled out.
Some parameters to point out:
  • founding date =
  • closure date =
  • series = main series
  • ranges = main ranges, if applicable (mostly BF; possibly only BF)
  • products = this is merchandise; ie. not stories
  • time =
  • non dwu = notable stuff they've done outside of the DWU; just like in Infobox Person
  • official site/twitter/youtube/soundcloud = all work like in Infobox Person
  • trailer = two of these; these are advertisements
  • clip = three of these; these are interviews
PS. This cannot go on LEGO unless a specifically real world counterpart is ever created. LEGO is an in-universe article, and will stay that way. But if you wouldn't mind updating the last paragraph in the BTS section, that would be great.

Rename Edit

Hello my good man, I was wondering why you keep adding a rename tag? I'm sure it's good intention (I mean I follow your work on the core and, along with User:SOTO, User:TheChampionOfTime and User:Shambala108, you're my favourite editors) but as the story's name is Five(ish) and not Fiveish. So I'm sure they can bend the rules of the rule with this one. Yeah, it's me "Denchen"... I couldn't believe it either. 22:22, November 15, 2016 (UTC)

Class B3 Edit

Please try to keep the discussion confined to the topic's talk page, so others can follow. I will respond there. And remember that {{speedy rename}} is only to be used if there is no discussion to be had.

Re: The Forgotten Edit

Sure, I'll do it right now. Shambala108 02:00, November 30, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Vortex Edit

Now that's one I didn't think of. I can't think of any precedent on the wiki offhand. Let me do a little research, and for now just keep that stuff out of the articles. I'll get back to you ASAP. Shambala108 02:45, December 8, 2016 (UTC)

I found an answer faster than I thought. Interestingly, Tardis:Spoiler policy, when defining spoilers and stating the rules, doesn't actually specify the story as being something we cover. So to be on the safe side, it's probably best not to include spoilers from other ranges either, and someone can update when stories from those ranges do come out. Hopefully your creating of these pages will generate interest in other editors who can help with later updates. Shambala108 03:00, December 8, 2016 (UTC)

Re: images Edit

Good questions.

First of all, Tardis:Images and perspective specifically says "For in-universe articles, images must come from an in-universe source, such as a screenshot of a televised episode, or a scan of a comic strip. Novel or audio covers may also be potential sources for in-universe imagery, but only when no other source has an image to offer." So if you have a novel or audio cover, it's ok.

I don't know about DWM or other magazine images or reference books, except that I've seen that kind of thing regularly removed from articles, so I expect that's a "no". Unfortunately, some articles will never have images. I usually work with the short stories, so I know what it's like to not having images on my character articles. Shambala108 03:40, December 12, 2016 (UTC)

VOR variables in infoboxes? Edit

I'd like to create a new variable for {{Infobox Merchandise}} (which seems to be the infobox for audio anthologies, these days), similar to the DWM variable in {{Infobox Series}}, to link to issue(s) of Vortex which discuss the anthology or series in question.

I would say I'd like to add it to {{Infobox Story}}, as well, but right now we don't have DWM variables for that, so it hardly seems equal and fair. That said, {{Infobox Story}} absolutely should have DWM variables, because Doctor Who Magazine discusses individual stories more often than it does whole series. Anyway, mostly putting this here as a reminder to myself to do this, as well as to inform you and give you time to give me any comments/suggestions pertinent to this in the interim, if necessary.

Happy late-December-time! :)
× SOTO (//) 02:01, December 22, 2016 (UTC)

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. To clear something up of my own, in case there's been any confusion, {{Infobox Series}} does have DWM, and {{Infobox Story}} currently doesn't, though I think it absolutely should.
× SOTO (//) 02:21, December 22, 2016 (UTC)

The Big Finish Podcast Edit

Oh! Mostly separate question. Do you think it would be a good idea to, in the near-ish future, open up the possibility for individual pages for The Big Finish Podcast. I already started all the THWR ones a while back. I do understand that they've abandoned an official numbering scheme, but that doesn't mean we don't know their release numbers once listed out. By my calculation, there's been 275 episodes (which aren't Who's Round) to date.
Obviously, when I say open the doors, I don't expect them all to be filled with info. Once I did the full table, listing all the interviewees immediately visible on the list, and dates, I could create them all as stubs by bot. But it would mean that
a) Editors would have something to cite if they want to reference a BF podcast
b) We'd at least have a repository of the actual SoundCloud audio, as far back as that goes
c) For future releases, and any others of interest, there might well be more info added, so long as one or two editors listen to them.
Any thoughts? This is an idea for the future, of course, if deemed a good idea.
× SOTO (//) 02:19, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
I haven't listened to too many of them thus far, so I can't give you much specific detail on what kind of info can typically be found in those. There's certainly some production info/behind the scenes stuff to be found. And also some interviewee-specific information that may not be Big Finish-related.
We would have to wait with certain details, or with actually adding the audio, until a bit afterwards, because they do always do previews to stories coming out soon. Thankfully, there's nice spans of time you can keep skip past if you're going to edit based on them.
Regarding infoboxes, I would use {{Infobox Doc}}, same as on the Toby Hadoke pages. Take a look at THWR 107, for example, to see how I used it there. (Incidentally, that particular podcast was adorable.)
× SOTO (//) 02:50, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
Sampling one quickly, I'm getting info on The Weakest Link: Doctor Who Special funnily enough, and, more in Big Finish territory, two working titles for The Genocide Machine, recording the Daleks for the same story, and what eventually led to Nick Briggs doing the Dalek voices (which then led to him voicing the Daleks on TV), and confirmation that the name Bev Tarrant is a nod to Terry Nation. Nick Briggs also mentions that was the first use of Pro Tools to edit a BF story, as his previous editing device broke down mid-production. Confirmation he did both music and sound design, which we don't currently have on the infobox. Cool stuff, actually.

comics Edit

Holiday greetings. I wanted to let you know that I may be editing comic pages heavily. As much of their material is the result of your heroic effort, I suspect that I might be stepping on your toes from time to time. For that I apologise in advance.

Regarding the "summary" parts, I've been thinking about it for a some time now. First, I tried to change summary to publisher's summary to avoid suspicion of plagiarism. I remember many pages laid bare when it turned out that text was copied from elsewhere verbatim. This text is intended to be such a copy, so it seems safer to state that explicitly, that this is not our summary but the publisher's summary. This is standardly done for audio stories, see for instance, The Sirens of Time.

However, I don't like the summary to After Life in principle. It has little to do with the story itself. It is present on both Titan Comics and Comixology websites, I know. But there is also the "Previously..." segment in the issue itself. And this segment is basically the relevant part of the summary. And then there are multi-issue stories where several summaries and several "Previously" segments exist. I believe currently only the summary to the first issue of each story is present on the Wikia. But the previously segment is important. For instance, in After Life it helps date the story after A Christmas Carol. Do you think it could make sense to add a "Previously" section to the story pages?

My second thought was that main characters are given blurb introductions on the first pages, usually three characters with round pictures and small bios. The descriptions seem to be stable from issue to issue unless a character is added. Do you think, these blurbs are useful anywhere? For instance, they could be used on the Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor page to describe the main cast of the comic?

Anyway, comics are your domain. So, once again, if I accidentally break your well-established methodology, please forgive me. Amorkuz 00:06, December 29, 2016 (UTC)

Gah, this discussion is everywhere! I could definitely run a bot to do that, but I'd want to first be sure that I'm not adding the heading to any pages with original summaries. Are we positive that all (or most) are taken from such a source? And is it on the book/in the magazine itself, or is it from online?
× SOTO (//) 01:39, December 29, 2016 (UTC)
I started the run on Titan comics, and right away I'm not sure of the first one in the main category (alphabetically): The Body Electric. Mind you, I'm sure all the stories in the subcategories are as you say they are, and this might be the blurb as well. Anyway, if you want me to run that, I will.

VOR proposal Edit

I am going to say, early on, that it looks good like that. It's a lot more neat with sections, rather than bullets with brackets and no real structure to it.

First note, always assume that the articles are titled as would do book titles. "The Joy of Six", not "The joy of six". Regular features are not article titles, so those can remain in lower case. Also, how do these not have indexes? I see no index.

So, headings. I think h3 (===) is a bit too big compared to the length of the text within (1 bullet point), and doesn't have the right look. To justify h4 (====), I might suggest adding at least the h3 subheading "Regular features", if not also "Articles" at the top (not sure the latter is necessary). I would definitely recommend a regular features heading.

Here's a diff showing some of these changes I've suggested: [1]

Also, are we specifically excluding that article at the bottom of pages 16 and 17, entitled "The Pertwee Era Made New!" I have no problem with that; I'm just noting that it's the only one excluded.

And one final note for today: these articles need an external links template to get to https://www.bigfinish.com/vortex/v/79 (or whatever number). Easy enough to make, but I can't imagine what to call it. The nav is {{Vortex}}. Can't be Vortexx. {{Vorx}}? {{VORx}}? I think I like that. {{VOR x}}? Keep me informed.
× SOTO (//) 04:20, January 9, 2017 (UTC)

Ha! Yes, I'll update it for you. I'll give a lengthier response later, on all your points and questions, but I can absolutely add all the external links by bot. And since the URLs all have consistent naming, the template doesn't even need parameters.
× SOTO (//) 18:43, January 9, 2017 (UTC)
I updated the template. Your difficulties are not your fault; they were a fault in my design. I had a solution, though. From now on, replace {{nbsp|4}} with the link to the new issue.
× SOTO (//) 18:46, January 9, 2017 (UTC)
I have not forgotten about this. You will still get a full reply soon, which is to say as soon as I find the time.
× SOTO (//) 01:12, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
Okay, you do deserve an answer sooner rather than later. I actually made the {{VOR x}} template on the 12th, btw. I'm looking at the Vortex Mail on VOR 79, which I already had downloaded, and I struggle to see a way it could be effectively covered. The titles are not themselves self-evident enough to have much meaning if simply listed. Unless you just want a section like:
"This issue's Vortex Mail tackled questions on subjects like/on the subjects of..."
And if there's anything particularly notable stated in an answer, that can be the next sentence. Otherwise, I can't see how this can be covered in any sort of standardised way.
And as I said, I have no issue with ignoring what you rightfully call sub-articles. Now with {{VOR x}} in place on all articles (since Thursday), I see nothing else that needs to be changed on the VOR 79 page, so definitely feel free to spread the new format to the others, once you've decided if it's feasible/worthwhile to try to cover Vortex Mail (which goes by other names elsewhere, as I understand) in the manner I suggested right above. Other than that, I think the page looks great!

Whooops. Okay, I've fixed the template. I obviously was not paying enough attention. And yes, I'm afraid I found myself glued to the screen by the misery that is ASOUE. It's like watching a car crash—you can't look away (I need to create that page, don't I?)—except that everything about it is amazing and perfectly safe from this end of my computer screen. I (almost) wish I hadn't gone back to school again, or I'd be watching and rewatching and editing the whole time since.

Vandalism on someone else's user page Edit

Thank you for making note of the vandalism done at User:PicassoAndPringles' user page. However, as the rule goes, non-admins should never edit the user page of another, even in these cases. To quote from T:USER OTHER:

"If you notice that someone else's user page has been vandalised, please do not revert on your own initiative. Instead, please alert an admin. Admin have greater powers to notice editing patterns, and so are in a better position to identify the seriousness of the vandalism."

That said, your efforts are appreciated. But do try to keep this in mind in the future.
× SOTO (//) 01:47, January 19, 2017 (UTC)

Thank you again. We have discussed potentially locking the page, but it's ultimately up to P&P herself. As for the policy, I understand what it's like when there's no admin around, and I did the same once myself, but it's super-important to keep people's user pages theirs. There's, often enough, at least one admin online, even if they're not actively editing.

Interwiki linking to DWL Edit

Hi, CoT and I have started a project you might be interested in: creating interwiki links to the Doctor Who Legacy wiki. I could even say, returning the interwiki links since links in the opposite directions have been there for ages (since the beginning?). The idea is to use the "External links" section to provide a link to the character/enemy on DWL wiki (maybe in the future also levels and, if exist on the DWL side, locations). CoT made a handy template that works like this:

  • "Me" at the Doctor Who Legacy wiki. As we started discussing how to best employ this linkage, CoT suggested to ask for your expertise on the matter, to achieve the least intrusive and most informative linkage. It seems that both CoT and I agree on the following points:
  • BHS section in addition to the template is only needed if there is something special about the character in the game. No point in just saying: this character exists in the game.
  • Generally one link per character is enough, unless they are different substantially rather than just different in terms of gameplay. For instance, for the six adipose playable characters and one enemy, just one link is sufficient, say to w:c:dwlegacy:Adipose disambig page. Similarly, for Buzzer (Ganger), it is sufficient to link to w:c:dwlegacy:Buzzer Ganger, from which the enemy is readily accessible. On the other hand, "Me" ally and "Me" enemy are taken from different periods of Ashildr's life, so two links are reasonable. Similarly, three links are justified for Amy Pond: for the main character, the River Song's World's version and The Girl Who Waited.
  • In cases as above, I propose to write small BHS descriptions of which versions from which episodes are used how because this is an officially licensed (albeit invalid) take on the characters.

Your thoughts and/or participation would be highly appreciated. I am especially interested in the best pages on the DWL side to link to. I've noticed, for instance, that the ally adipose page is tabulated, so linking to one of allies in effect links to all allies, and there is a link to the enemy page at the very top. Would it be maybe better to link to the leftmost tab of the ally page? Amorkuz 09:44, January 19, 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the expert advice. It makes a real difference to have someone knowing how things work on the other side. (The tab thing is very subtle.) I think all allies are now linked (took me all night). In cases of impersonal allies, I tried to link to the species/organisation, e.g., all three Church allies are linked from the Church page on TARDIS to the Church on DWL, which is one page for all the enemies, and it has links to allies. I missed such organisational pages for Punishment allies and for UNIT allies on the DWL side, so linked to individual pages instead. Maybe I just didn't find the pages. All sonic screwdrivers are linked from Sonic screwdriver (other sonic things have their own pages here). While it's a lot, it provides, IMHO, a nice visual guide to the evolution of the screwdriver, so I don't mind. I also found something that, apparently, was not caught by the DWL creators. It turns out that River's sonic blaster is the same one that Jack used before her, just with a different handle. Not that it matter's for the game, but DWLegacy wiki may benefit from a note on this. Amorkuz 07:39, January 20, 2017 (UTC)
Okay, I found a place where an extra link on the DWL side would save an external link here. There are an ally "11th Doctor Flesh Clone" and an enemy "Doctor Ganger" on the "Ganger" page at DWL, but there are no links between the two. Seems that Template:For 3 at DWL is the largest there is, allowing for three companions, but this page needs four. I don't know how to properly add a link from Gangers to the ally Doctor Ganger there, so for now I put two links on Eleventh Doctor (Ganger) here. Amorkuz 16:30, January 20, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the fix. I'm done with allies and enemies. (A couple of enemies do not have pages here, but I don't remember which anymore.) Levels for me is a lower priority, so I won't do it in the near future. Amorkuz 23:56, January 20, 2017 (UTC)

Doctor Who Unbound Edit

After much debate, today it was ruled that the entire Doctor Who Unbound series was valid. --Pluto2 (talk) 21:52, January 23, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Faction Paradox (series) Edit

I love your edit of the page. So so so much better than what we have now. This was actually on my list to fix at some point, so I'm really appreciative that you've done this! The short stories section is a genius innovation. One thing I've been thinking about is moving all the licensing history to a section at top and just adding another column for "publisher" to the novels and short stories columns, since that would de-orphan Newtons Sleep and make the whole thing a lot more cohesive. (There's also a Random Static short story prelude to Newtons Sleep, so a publisher column would be necessary for the short stories section as well.) You're also completely right that there should be separate pages for Faction Paradox Protocols and The True History of Faction Paradox; I'll work on that shortly. I'm also planning to go through and sort out what short story was originally published where, since I know the Erasing Sherlock prologue was published in Warring States, and the Warlords of Utopia prologue was published ... somewhere other than Warlords of Utopia. So I'll verify all of those. NateBumber 16:22, January 24, 2017 (UTC)

Yes, the chart on Iris Wildthyme (series) looks exactly like what I was picturing! And thank you for making the audio pages; I'll add more information there shortly. With your permission, one of us should definitely transfer the experimental page out of your sandbox and onto Faction Paradox (series) soon. NateBumber 20:30, January 24, 2017 (UTC)

Moving sandbox pages Edit

Good of you to ask. I'd say that if it's not a problem to leave a redirect behind, it's absolutely fine for a user to move one of their own subpages to a new title. Only admin can choose not to leave a redirect behind, but you are absolutely empowered to move your subpage to a new name if you so choose. Good question.

LEGO Edit

Yeah, I'm totally on board with that if the real world article is sufficiently fleshed out. I would have initially thought it would just be at LEGO (real world). Lego (company) is not something we've done before, but I guess it's an option. Or, alternatively, LEGO (real world) could redirect to The Lego Group/LEGO Group, the actual name of the company behind the brand.
× SOTO (//) 22:52, January 26, 2017 (UTC)

Ha. That's okay; sorry if I wasn't clear. The LEGO Group seems like a suitable destination. Not sure if {{TitleSort}} would have that impact, as it has more to do with categories (in fact, searching "Doctor" does not bring up "The Doctor" or any Doctor at all), but a redirect at LEGO (real world), and even LEGO Group if you really want it, will mean it'll still show up in the search.
× SOTO (//) 23:54, January 26, 2017 (UTC)
Actually, would you mind maybe writing up a little BTS for LEGO as well? Just with a {{main}} link to The LEGO Group, and the briefest overview of LEGO's relationship with Doctor Who.
× SOTO (//) 00:50, January 28, 2017 (UTC)
Fair enough. I just added an in-text link to it when it mentions LEGO the company.

Rokhandi images Edit

Since you're looking at them anyways, I was racking my brain what to use for the planet itself, on Rokhandi. And suddenly I got an idea: to use the whole centrefold showing both the old jungle and the industrial new norm with the Doctor's figure separating them in the middle. Sure, there are a lot of balloons inside, but they are all on-topic, so should be allowed. What do you think? Amorkuz 16:38, January 29, 2017 (UTC)
