In a parallel universe, the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) was a Galaxy class Starfleet vessel used for exploration by the United Federation of Planets during the 24th century. Its use of the name Enterprise followed the original Constitution-class USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) of the 23rd century.

Technical data[]

Areas of the Enterprise included the bridge, the captain's ready room, the observation lounge, sick bay, the holodeck, and Ten Forward. (COMIC: Assimilation²)

Crew[]

The USS Enterprise was commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and was composed of a mostly human crew. Crew members included Commander William Riker, the android Lieutenant Commander Data, Lieutenant Worf, a Klingon who served as chief of security, Lieutenant Geordi La Forge, Doctor Beverly Crusher, and Counselor Deanna Troi. Another resident was Guinan, the bartender of Ten Forward. (COMIC: Assimilation²)

History[]

Locutus[]

When the United Federation of Planets was invaded by the Borg, Captain Picard was kidnapped from the Enterprise's bridge by the Borg and taken aboard their cube, resulting in Commander Riker taking command of the Enterprise. Aboard the Borg cube, Picard was subject to assimilation into the Borg Collective and so became a Borg himself. Renamed "Locutus of Borg", Picard's free will was surpressed as the Borg intended for Locutus to function as an emissary to facilitate the assimilation of all planets in the Federation.

As Locutus, the Borg forced Picard to confront his own crew and orchestrate a massive attack on the assembled defensive forces of Starfleet at Wolf 359. Using Picard's knowledge of Starfleet's tactics and weaknesses against them, the Borg easily defeated the Starfleet task force, resulting in the staggering loss of 11,000 lives in a battle which the Eleventh Doctor would recognise as a fixed point in time.

Following the battle, the Borg cube proceeded directly to Earth. Meanwhile, Riker devised a plan to turn the tables against the Borg, entailing the retrieval of the Captain from the Borg cube by Lieutenants Data and Worf. Back aboard the Enterprise, Picard was freed from the Borg Collective with the Data's assistance. Picard in turn assisted in incapacitating the Borg cube, leading to its self-destruction. For Picard, the memory of what the Borg forced him to do at Wolf 359 would continue to torment him for the rest of his life. (COMIC: Assimilation²)

The Doctor and the Cybermen[]

In the year 2368, as part of the efforts to rebuild the Federation fleet following the Battle of Wolf 359, the Enterprise was sent to Naia VII before it was boarded by the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams. Responding to a distress call from the nearby Delta IV, the Enterprise was met by the Borg-Cyberman Fleet, a union of the Borg Collective and the Cybermen. The Enterprise hide in the Paertes Nebula where an examination of the records showed that the Fourth Doctor had once fought the CyberNomads with James T. Kirk. After it was found that the Cybermen had betrayed the Borg, the Eleventh Doctor convinced Captain Picard to ally with the Borg.

Meeting with the Borg on Tau Lee, the Enterprise welcomed aboard the Conduit, the spokesperson for the Borg. Using Borg knowledge, the Conduit enhanced the engines of the Enterprise so it could catch up to the Cyber-Fleet once the Doctor had taken the TARDIS ahead to sabotage their engines. Upon arrival, the Enterprise, at the Doctor's advice, fired "golden beam", a gold infused particle beam, to disrupt the Cyber-Fleet before it warped away. Once the Borg and the Cybermen had been defeated, the Doctor returned the Enterprise crew members that had accompanied him back to their ship before he, Amy and Rory returned to N-Space. Maruthea[]

The Enterprise was once docked at Maruthea in the Time Vortex. Worf and a Ferengi were at Bonjaxx's Bar. (COMIC: Party Animals)
