A Zygon who impersonated Tybalt was a character in an alternative version of William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet.

This Tybalt did not appear in the play as performed, only in the variant which Shakespeare wrote while under pressure from James Burbage to "make dark tragedie light". Other additions included the Doctor, Amy and Rory, who were able to save the lives of Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet in Act V Scene III, the final scene. Their families briefly celebrated their survival but Romeo asked to be banished from Verona, noting the deaths of both Tybalt and Sir Paris by his sword was "still a blemish on their joy". However, the Doctor revealed first that Paris was alive, having been replaced by a Nestene duplicate during his altercation with Romeo, and then that Tybalt too had survived. He emerged from the TARDIS and the large celebration subsequently resumed. Amy quietly asked the Doctor how Tybalt could live and he replied by telling her that this Tybalt was not the human original but a Zygon who the Doctor had previously saved from burning as a witch "now return[ing] the favour owed". Rory called this a "neat switch". (PROSE: The True and Most Excellent Comedie of Romeo and Juliet)
