Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

This page lists appearances of the General, born according to some accounts as "Kenossium", in the order in which they experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories.

Timeline[]

Eleventh incarnation[]

Uniquely for this Time Lord, the eleventh incarnation of the General is male.

Working alongside the Eighth Doctor[]

In the first year of the Last Great Time War.

Leading the War Room[]

With the Eighth Doctor[1] suffering from degeneration, and in the body of his seventh incarnation, the General works alongside the Doctor and Veklin to rescue Davros. He considers fulfilling The Hybrid prophecy. Space Station Zenobia is destroyed, setting this after The Passenger.

Waging war with the War Doctor[]

The End of Time War and Beyond[]

The General leads the War Council on the last day of the Time War. He is contacted by three incarnations of the Doctor, who tells them of their plan to save Gallifrey. Realising that they have recruited all of their incarnations, he gives the order for "all thirteen" incarnations of the Doctor to save Gallifrey by transporting it to a pocket universe.
The voice of the General is heard calling out the Time Lords' message to the Doctor.
Gallifrey has been positioned at the end of the universe. After seeing off Rassilon, the General allows the Twelfth Doctor to mortally wound him, resulting in his eleventh regeneration. The General is once more a woman.

Twelfth incarnation[]

The twelfth incarnation of the General emerges from regeneration, female again.
Following Hell Bent, the General works with the Doctor when Rassilon leads the Cybermen in an invasion of Gallifrey.

Current Unplaced[]

Footnotes[]

  1. The background TARDIS hum at the beginning of the Once and Future story, Past Lives, resembles that of the Eighth Doctor's, not the War Doctor's.
