Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

This page attempts to list the appearances of the Toymaker in the order in which he experienced them.

Limiting factors[]

The Toymaker's timeline does not necessarily derive from the order of the Doctor's encounters with him. His lives are akin to "incarnations," which he changes depending on how bored he gets of them, although presumably he does not switch between appearances.

Early life[]

The Toymaker helps to imprison Kronos the Chronovore.
The Toymaker collects Gaylord Lefevre, who appears in Divided Loyalties.

Challenging the Doctor[]

Dialogue indicates that this is the first meeting of the Doctor and the Toymaker since The Celestial Toymaker.
Dialogue indicates this is the first meeting of the Doctor and the Toymaker since The Celestial Toymaker. The ending leads into Trick or Treat. Although only a few days have passed from the Doctor's perspective, he explains to Steven and Dodo that due to his timeless nature, a thousand years could have passed from the Toymaker's perspective since their last meeting.
The Toymaker tries to trick the Sixth Doctor into believing that he has been his puppet for hundreds of years, ever since the events of Murder in the Dark.
The Toymaker encounters the Twelfth Doctor and builds a new toyroom. Although this account posits that the Toymaker is too scared to leave his Toyroom, other accounts set prior show he has no problem visiting parts of the universe.
The Toymaker toys with the Tenth Doctor.

As the Mandarin[]

The Toymaker loses his current body in a battle with the Fifth Doctor; he regenerates into a new form here described as still looking like Michael Gough, but with a colder demeanour. He decides to set up a base in Blackpool, leading directly into The Nightmare Fair
The Toymaker has the colder demeanour Divided Loyalties sought to retroactively explain. The audio adaptation coincidentally depicts him in a different body based on actor David Bailie, whereas Divided Loyalties and the prose Nightmare Fair depict the Toymaker as still being Gough. He is referred to as both "the Toymaker" and "the Mandarin" in prose.
Using the name of "the Mandarin", the Toymaker plays a game with Fenric.
After being bested by Charley Pollard, the Toymaker's David Bailie body is destroyed, though he plans to form a new one to seek his revenge.

Trapped[]

The Toymaker plays hundreds of games simultaneously against a group of humans, as part of a plot by the Seventh Doctor. He is overpowered by the humans and is turned into a doll. The humans divided him into segments and each consumed a piece of him and brought him back to reality where they attempted to keep him in place until he faded away. However it is revealed that they were unable to make it to Earth and were instead still in the Celestial Toyroom, where the Toymaker was beginning to rebuild himself. He is challenged to another game by Swapnil Khan who wins most of the Toymaker's powers and is able to send the Doctor and his friends back to Earth while he and the Toymaker remained trapped in an eternal checkmate.

Return[]

(REFERENCE)
When the Fourteenth Doctor invokes a superstition at the edge of the universe by casting salt, (TV: Wild Blue Yonder) the Toymaker is released from his domain and allowed free reign in the Doctor's universe, during which He defeats God, the Guardians of Time and Space and the Master in various games, makes a "jigsaw" out of the Doctor's history and flees from the One Who Waits. (TV: The Giggle)
Having lost his first game with the First Doctor in The Celestial Toymaker, the Toymakers faces the Fourteenth Doctor to a second game, which he wins, tying their tally in the best of three. Deciding to play the third game with a new Doctor, the Toymaker induces a Bi-generation which results in the Fifteenth Doctor emerging from the Fourteenth Doctor. Together the two Doctors beat the Toymaker in a game of catch, leaving him banished from reality forever.
The Toymaker is facing the Fourteenth Doctor on Earth, suggesting a setting during The Giggle.
The Toymaker has a dating profile. Given he has Neil Patrick Harris's face, and seems to be talking to the Doctor, this is likely set during The Giggle.
