The Weight of History was the third and final story of Timejacked!, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written Lou Morgan and featured Jacob Dudman as the Twelfth Doctor and Bhavnisha Parmar as Keira Sanstrom.

Publisher's summary[]

The Founder built their planet and their people from nothing. Their lives, and their very world, are dependent on the whims of the Founder. All praise the Founder.

Plot[]

The Doctor numbers the two versions of Keira, with Keira 1 being the version that he has been travelling with and Keira 2 being the one claiming to be from the future, and forbids them from touching. Leaving Keira 1 in the TARDIS, the Doctor and Keira 2 explore the city, finding that all of the roads now lead to a cube. They are warned away from the cube by a guard who informs the Great Founder, Havilland, of their presence. Havilland recognises the Doctor and orders him and Keira 2 to be observed.

The Doctor and Keira 2 sneak into the cube and are led by Attis, a cleaner, to Havilland, whom Keira 2 recognises as a rogue Time Agent and the Time Agency's most wanted. Havilland has the Doctor, Keira 2 and Attis arrested and the TARDIS confiscated. Keira 1 exits the TARDIS and finds the trio, freeing them and heading back to the throne room where the walls close in on them and Attis sacrifices himself to save one of the Keiras. In the TARDIS, they realise that Havilland jumped into the fracture in Bath and has since been harnessing the fracture's energy to rearrange reality.

The two Keiras accidentally touch, but nothing happens. The Doctor sends Keira 1 to the TARDIS library and realises that Keira 2 is a Confused, created from a final bit of Calandran technology in Keira's vortex manipulator when she jumped. When Havilland knocks on the door, the Doctor goes to talk with her whilst the Keiras cut her off from the fracture using a temporal isolation field. Time resets as the fracture closes, restoring Calandra and forcing Havilland to return to 1813, threatening revenge.

After saying goodbye to Vetch, the fracture heals and Keira 2 is absorbed back into Keira 1, whom the Doctor then takes back to the Time Agency to report on Havilland's whereabouts in 1813. The Doctor leaves to reassemble Nardole, suggesting that he might come back to check on Keira at some point.
