Worldbuilding[]
- Coverage of the space pirates' activities and eventual capture is obtained from TV 21 newsman Tolon Brough, USS file report PK6/Yellow/9 and security file 29/31, the Kahra Press Agency, and the Universal Press Agency, and screened by Kahra Control.
- The space freighter TR5's estimated time of arrival at Jupiter Control from Space City is two days.
- The pilot of TR5 believes he could blast the space pirates "out of the universe" if they attacked the ship due to it being "armed to the teeth", but its missiles are ultimately no match for their paralyser beam.
- By the time Twenty One is recruited to the case, four freighters have been hijacked in the space of a month.
- The deadly toys Twenty One packs into his case include a spider with an x-ray camera, a boat which disguises a pair of binoculars, a flying saucer which conceals a homing device and a helicopter with the ability to locate hidden doors.
- Twenty One hides in a crate labelled "FEROUS MAGNOID".
- Flash and Twenty One both take helijets to the Presidential Palace.
Story notes[]
- As well as being a crossover with the Doctor Who universe , this story also crossed over with Fireball XL5 by prominently featuring Space City and (through Fireball XL8) the XL class of spacecraft.
- This marked the first 21 story to contain DWU elements published since the strip was reduced from two pages to one-and-a-half in length.
Continuity[]
- Twenty One also helped Roberts' predecessor T.J. Younger in uncovering a plot concocted by a high-ranking World Government official to seize power and become World President themselves. (COMIC: Sharper Than the Serpent's Tooth)
