Therefore, its known narrative elements are not a part of the Doctor Who universe as we, on this Wiki, choose to define it. It may have been the basis for a similar story in another medium, however — and that story may indeed be valid.

Notes[]
- The idea of the actor who portrayed the Doctor writing a story actually proceeded with Colin Baker constantly contributing to DWU short stories.
- The idea of William Hartnell playing two roles was actually used in The Massacre in which he played the Abbot of Amboise, though he was not a villain nor a relative. The idea was reused in the villain capacity in The Enemy of the World in which Patrick Troughton played both the Second Doctor and dictator Ramon Salamander.
Behind The Scenes[]
The Doctor's Son would later appear in the In-DWU Story Cold Fusion.
