The Second Doctor Adventures was an audio series produced by Big Finish Productions beginning in 2022.
Following his debut in the Third Doctor Adventures audio story, The Annihilators, Michael Troughton starred as the Second Doctor in full-cast adventures set immediately after his trial at the end of The War Games.
History[]
Nicholas Briggs was keen for some time to give each Doctor their own range at Big Finish and, although Frazer Hines had played the Second Doctor predominantly in The Early Adventures, wanted to begin The Second Doctor Adventures with Michael Troughton in the titular role. After a Zoom call, Troughton agreed to take on his father's role.
Briggs and David Richardson asked Mark Wright to produce both the "new era" of The First Doctor Adventures and The Second Doctor Adventures, the brief being to continue the Second Doctor's story beyond The War Games in what has been termed "Season 6B". (BFX: The Final Beginning) The range was announced along with the appearance of Troughton and Hines in The Annihilators on 1 January 2022[1] and the story details of Beyond War Games released on 22 April.[2]
