"The President Kodachrome", or "the President-Who-Would-Not-Serve", was the Corsair's nickname for a Lord President Emeritus of the Homeworld known for his extremely conspicuous fashion sense, which included a pin depicting a cat.
Biography[]
The Corsair knew the future President when he was "just a boy". On one occasion, the child tugged at the Corsair's arm and begged them to take them on an adventure.
Later, the President acquired a reputation as the President-Who-Would-Not-Serve. On one occasion, having become infamous among his kind, the President Kodachrome "stuck his head" in the Ghost Wars, a fearsome temporal Change War fought in the Horsehead Nebula against the Malakh Imperium. He was beheaded, beyond regeneration, by the S-Rank vampire Miss Garglespike. He remained dead for thirty-two days, during which time news of his death spread to the Corsair and the Monk, and fourteen stars went out alongside the civilisation who orbited them, because he would no longer be around to retroactively save them at some point in his future.
After these thirty-two days, the time-stream of the Ghost Wars mutated again and brought the President back to life, as well as the fourteen stars; he showed up on the Homeworld, injured and delirious with blood-loss but alive, and was tended to by surgeons who managed to save his life. After he recovered, he had no memory of the event, both because of the massive blood-loss and because time had been rewritten. However, the Corsair remembered, as did Garglespike, who paradoxically retained the cat-pin she'd taken as a trophy from her victim. (PROSE: The Bloodletters)
