The Lady in the Lake was the first story of the audio anthology, The Diary of River Song: Series Three, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Nev Fountain and featured Alex Kingston as River Song.

Publisher's summary

On Terminus Prime, clients choose their own means of demise. Something exciting, meaningful, or heroic to end it all.

But when River discovers that there are repeat customers, she knows something more is going on.

She begins to uncover a cult with worrying abilities. Its members can apparently cheat death, and that’s not all they have in common with River...

Clients on Terminus Prime can choose to die by simulated Sontarans.
Sharon mentions that some clients died after being beheaded by the Headless Monks.
Lake became left-handed and had an allergy to cheese after regenerating. His regeneration was also able to recharge a broken fuel cell he was touching at the time he regenerated.
Lake met the real Mr Quisling in a bar, and concentrated on regenerating into him.

River recalls the Battle of Demons Run where "disaster struck, wearing a bow tie." Lake also recalls the battle, and refers to the Doctor as "the Demon". (TV: A Good Man Goes to War)
River is offered the chance to end her life in a simulation where she heroically sacrifices herself for the love of her life, but she says she would never do that. However, in her future, she does die saving the Tenth Doctor and the people uploaded to the Library. (TV: Forest of the Dead)
River signs her name with three kisses and a smiley face. In her future, she signs a message to the Tenth Doctor with a kiss. (TV: Silence in the Library)
River threatens Mr Quisling and Sharon with her gun. (TV: The Big Bang, The Impossible Astronaut / Day of the Moon, Let's Kill Hitler)

For the purposes of this list, a "regeneration story" is one in which a regeneration is actually and initially depicted. For this reason The War Games is not included below, even though it is commonly thought of as a "regeneration story". It doesn't actually include a clear scene of regeneration, and the preponderance of stories in other media confirms that the Second Doctor did not regenerate at the end of it.
Additionally, immediate post-regeneration stories, like the 2005 Children in Need Special Born Again — and ones like Castrovalva, where the regeneration sequence was replayed — are not included.

Post-regeneration stories

For the purposes of this list, a "post-regeneration story" is one in which the after-effects of a regeneration is actually and initially depicted and the Time Lord fully settles into their new body. For this reason, Rose is not included below, even though it is commonly thought of as a "post-regeneration story". It doesn't actually include a clear scene of regeneration, and the preponderance of stories in other media confirm that the Ninth Doctor has not immediately regenerated prior to the story.

Regeneration

Regeneration is usually considered a biologic process exclusive to Time Lords and a few other species. However, some consider Regeneration to also be a "post-regeneration story", though neither describes anything close to a biological process.
