The Day Before They Came was the second story of The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Volume Two, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written Daniel Blythe and featured Jacob Dudman as the Eleventh Doctor.

- Nicholas Briggs says that the voice of the Spongiform is based on his old "year leader" or "head of the year" Mr Bell. He wanted it to sound distorted, "struggling all the time and having difficulty speaking". He mentions that "someone accurately pointed out" that it sounded like famous sitcom character Mr Bean.
