The Curse of the Scarab was a 1938 film produced by Monroe Stahr, directed by Seth Rakoff and featuring Raschid Karnak as a mummy.
Production of the film was over-budget, behind schedule, and beset with problems like Karnak's poor performance and the interruption of one scene by the Fifth Doctor and Peri Brown.
Rakoff secretly used the film's production as a cover for a ceremony in which he used the Grimoire of Anubis to revive Kephri and free him from the Scarabaeus. Instead, Rakoff and Kephri were killed, the set was destroyed in a fire, and the film was never finished. (COMIC: The Curse of the Scarab)
