You may be looking for his real world counterpart or the Time Lord.

Terry Nation was the man who discovered the first Dalek Chronicles story-cubes after their fell backwards through time to 20th century Earth. Working with David Whitaker, he translated the Chronicles, publishing them in such forms as stage plays, (PROSE: The Daleks) and he subsequently claimed the patent for the Daleks, after travelling back to the Daleks' invasion of Earth. (COMIC: Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150 B.C.) According to one account, Nation had actually become one of the Preliminary Operatives who worked for the Daleks; it was on their orders that he filled 20th century pop-culture with information on the Daleks. (PROSE: The Dalek Invasion of Toyshops)

Biography[]

Terry Nation was born in Wales in 1930. (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide)

Nation claimed to David Whitaker that he had found the first of the story-cubes making up the Dalek Chronicles in his garden. Drilling a hole into the mysterious glass cube, he realised that it contained microfilms describing future events on the distant planet Skaro. (PROSE: The Daleks) According to one account, Nation was actually working for the Daleks as one of their Preliminary Operatives, aiding their infiltration of Earth's popular culture during the 20th and 21st centuries. (PROSE: The Dalek Invasion of Toyshops)

At any rate, with Whitaker's help, he began translating the Chronicle fragments he had found, and looking for other lost story-cubes. Whitaker and Nation worked together on turning one record into a stage play. (PROSE: The Daleks) In the end, however, much of the Dalek Chronicles material would be translated by Whitaker alone. (PROSE: The Dalek Chronicles Found!)

Terry Nation was present during the Daleks' first invasion of Earth in 2150 B.C. - there, he patented the rights to the Daleks' appearance before their other invasions. He even claimed that the Sixth Doctor owed him money for simply mentioning the Daleks. (COMIC: Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150 B.C.)

Notably, there was a Time Lord Castellan called Terrynate who received a distress call by the Third Doctor. (PROSE: The Time Lord Letters)

Nation died in the USA at the age of 66. (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide)

Parallel universes[]

Terry Nation also existed in a parallel universe, where, like the Terry Nation of the Doctor's universe, owned the patent to the Daleks. (COMIC: The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who)

Behind the scenes[]

This is an in-universe version of Terry Nation, the man who is famous among the Doctor Who franchise as the man who created the Daleks. He was seen in COMIC: Early Man: Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150 B.C. as part of a self-explanitory meta joke, and mentioned in PROSE: The Daleks and The Dalek Invasion of Toyshops as an homage to the real world Terry Nation. The Time Lord based upon Nation is also intended to be an homage to Nation.
