The Terrae were the native species of Theia. They had a dual set of organs, as a back up in case one failed. The Rutans were aware of them as a young race.
When Theia broke apart and became the Moon, the Terrae were disturbed by Soviet and American efforts to mine the Moon's surface for Helium 3.
When one of the Terrae died, their body dissolved into a sparkling, purple dust-like compound that came to be known as Moon Blink, and used as a drug by humans in 1969. (PROSE: Moon Blink)
