Tenniel Evans (17 May 1926-10 June 2009) played Major Daly in the Doctor Who television story Carnival of Monsters.

Career

Evans was an old friend of Jon Pertwee, having appeared opposite him in the long-running BBC radio comedy The Navy Lark. He suggested that Pertwee audition for the part of the Third Doctor after hearing of Patrick Troughton's departure from the role; Evans was unaware that the Doctor Who production office was already considering Pertwee for the role.

When Patrick Troughton died, Evans took over his role in the ITV sitcom The Two of Us.

Personal life

He is the father of Big Finish actress Serena Evans.
