Tebediatroculozan was a Time Lord from one of the wealthiest and most powerful houses on the planet Gallifrey who attended the Time Lord Academy with the First Doctor. Although he was one of the most clever Time Lords of their generation, he spent much of his life consumed by envy of the Doctor for the adventures he had, until the Eighth Doctor helped him overcome those feelings. (PROSE: Seven Deadly Sins)

Biography[]

Tebediatroculozan was a Time Lord who came from one of the richest and most powerful houses on Gallifrey. He attended the Academy, where he was a member of the Patrex Chapter and attended a handful of classes with the Doctor. Tebediatroculozan received much higher marks than the Doctor, who knew he excellent at physics, but they did not know one another well. Instead, he constantly watched the Doctor and his friends and was envious of him. He felt because of his noble birth and high intellect, it was he who was special and should have made a difference on the universe.

While the Doctor stole a TARDIS, left Gallifrey and explored the universe, Tebediatroculozan never took even the first step and lived his life in envy. Even danger and the chance for heroics came to his home planet, he repeatedly missed out on the incidents. During the Sontaran invasion of Gallifrey, he was sick with a chill. When the Daleks invaded, he was off-world, monitoring lichen growth on Verana Delta.

Although he was one of the cleverest Time Lords of their generation, his desperation to be the person at the center of all the stories and the resentment he felt towards the Doctor for being that symied his potential. Tebediatroculozan instead fell into decay, feeling nothing. Because of this, he eventually came to the Doctor's eighth incarnation, seeking something outside of the empty life he had fallen into. Along with six other clients, Tebediatroculozan was shown The Purgatoria Experience, where the Doctor gave them the opportunity to see an story from his life first-hand. (PROSE: Seven Deadly Sins) Tebediatroculozan was shown an incident with the Doctor's third incarnation, Jo Grant and a terminally ill woman named Marion Connors (PROSE Angel) The experience allowed him to come to terms with his feelings towards the Doctor, and he came out of it smiling, with head held high. Of the seven clients he helped, the Doctor was happiest to see Tebediatroculozan's improved disposition. He believed that freed from his envy, Tebediatroculozan would finally fulfil his potential and may even be a future Lord President of Gallifrey. (PROSE: Seven Deadly Sins)

Physical appearance[]

Tebediatroculozan was a short, hunched-up older man with a pinched looking face. He wore the heliotrope coloured robes of the Patrexes and a skullcap. After the Doctor showed him The Purgatoria Experience, he no longer stooped and held his head high.

Behind the scenes[]

Tebediatroculozan appears in the short story Seven Deadly Sins, which served as introduction, conclusion and linking material to the other seven stories in the anthology Short Trips: Seven Deadly Sins. Although he did not directly appear in it, the short story Angel by Tara Samms was the incident from his life that the Doctor showed Tebediatroculozan.
