An orphan boy?[]
I'm not sure where the information about Starkey being an orphan comes from. It wasn't established in the show. Is there a citation for it? --Raukodraug 15:55, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
- In Oroborus it's clear that Starkey doesn't know who his parents are; Gryffen finds an image of two scientists who he thinks are Starkey's parents. Unfortunately, I can't quite make out what he says their names are: see Forum:Starkey's parents. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 04:09, May 24, 2012 (UTC)
- We're going with "Sobol" for the name of Starkey's parents. If it turns out that we're hearing it wrong, it can of course be changed. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 04:48, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Dialogue in The Last Precinct also establishes that Starkey doesn't have parents. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 00:33, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
Rename[]
Should this page be disambiguated to Starkey (Regeneration)? T:DAB seems to agree with me as there is Starkey (The Chase) and three real world people with Starkey as a last name. But this guy seems to be a central character in K9 (never brought myself to watch it) and the other in-universe Starkey only appeared for a short scene in one of the many journeys of The Chase. Perhaps this title should be kept as the main Starkey, and Starkey (disambiguation) should be the dab page!
Personally, I'm all for Starkey (Regeneration), but I just wanted to check with the community before applying a {{speedy rename}} to this one.

It's been more than three years now, and the page still hasn't been renamed. Shouldn't, at least, the {{rename}} tag have been replaced with a {{speedy rename|Starkey (Regeneration)}} by now? OncomingStorm12th ☎ 23:53, October 9, 2016 (UTC)
- Wow. Thanks. This is uncontroversial, by the way. Adding it now.
× SOTO (☎/✍/↯) 00:07, October 10, 2016 (UTC)- Changed the tag back to rename. The first comment under this heading proposes two alternatives, so that obviously means a discussion is required. Shambala108 ☎ 05:37, November 22, 2016 (UTC)
- I would call for Starkey (Regeneration), out of the two options. As has been noted before here: Starkey parents discussion - the other proposed option is one for which we are not entirely sure of. I would think though it was said there that it's not a major detail as the show never returned... it wouldn't be the best idea to have to rely on our own personal presumption of what we think his surname sounds like. - Surely this is the primary topic, though? This is a main character of a TV show whilst the only other Starkey in canon was uncredited and without lines in one episode. -- Saxon (✉️) 07:32, September 4, 2020 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, other "primary" characters with dab terms include Abby (The Judgement of Isskar), Zara (The Judgement of Isskar), Bliss (The Starship of Theseus). That said, Starkey is probably a rarer name than those three, and, as you said, the only other major Starkey is a pretty minor character. Danochy ☎ 07:56, September 4, 2020 (UTC)
