Can we continue?

The article was locked and reverted to its original form two months ago, and has been unlocked for almost a month. Can we re-enter the information and update with more (if there is anything new to report, that is) at this point?
--SOTO 08:37, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

Well, at least it doesn't have any story arc spoilers. And BBC hasn't announced any, so we're in luck.

Filming start needs to be corrected

It's been announced that filming begins on 6th January 2014, not in December, so that needs to be corrected. Presumably, since the 6th is tomorrow, an official announcement from the BBC will be issued that can be used as a source. 68.146.70.124talk to me 05:30, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

"It's been announced"? By whom? If you give me a source, I'll add it to the page.
--SOTO 05:35, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

Today is January 6 for me. Sergent Doomy Doom, Doomy Doomy Doomy Doom-BOOM! Boooooooom...Dooooom...Doom Boom. Doom Boom. Doom Boom. 01:51, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

All moot now as the announcements have been made. I've added the first day of filming and first Capaldi shooting day, and also the date of the readthrough (announced by the official DW Twitter feed from the BBC). 68.146.70.124talk to me 18:28, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

Rumours section

Is there any point in adding the "Tom the teacher from Day of the Doctor might be a new companion" rumor that's been kicking around since November 23? 68.146.70.124talk to me 18:28, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

It can only be added if it's cited from a proper source. Otherwise, anybody could add anything and the page would quickly become a mess. Shambala108 18:39, January 7, 2014 (UTC)
Nevermind that, do we even need the actual rumour section? TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 18:38, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

I know, by what you say, that this is a fansite, but I thought you might find this interesting: http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/summer-broadcast-for-doctor-who-series-8-60862.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+DoctorWhoTv+%28Doctor+Who+TV%29 --DCLM 22:55, February 12, 2014 (UTC)

Tom Riley

If I remember correctly, Tom Riley is playing Robin Hood. --109.59.102.144talk to me 17:58, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

Master

Unless the BBC has confirmed it, we can't say "The Master will return." Could someone please change the wording to "may"? 68.146.52.234talk to me 21:30, June 30, 2014 (UTC)

Well, the rumor isn't that the Master might return; the rumor is that he will return... --Bold Clone 21:33, June 30, 2014 (UTC)

Trailer

I understand we can't upload videos or pictures here, and we can't use the trailer as a source because it is very vague and misleading, but can we add a prominent link to it? I think anyone coming to this page would like to see it. CloneMarshalCommanderCody 03:54, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

There are plenty of ways people can find the link without us linking to it. Anyway, it is against Tardis:Video policy (point #6) to link to videos offsite. Shambala108 04:09, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

Rumours

There are many rumours saying that the second episode is called "Into the Dalek", the third "Robots of Sherwood", fourth "Listen", fifth "Time Heist", ninth "Flatline" and the eleventh "Death In Heaven". --DCLM 18:31, August 3, 2014 (UTC)

There is a section for rumors on the series 8 page, but the titles can only be posted there if they include a valid source, that is, where do these rumors come from. There are complete guidelines for valid sources at the top of the series 8 article. Shambala108 20:20, August 3, 2014 (UTC)

I could link to various pages, but I don't know which you considered valid. And the pages I find them on doesn't link on to other pages, except one that link on to Tweets on Twitter. --DCLM 10:23, August 4, 2014 (UTC)

Danniesen, I believe you just violated T:SPOIL. Those first four episode titles aren't rumours, they're spoilers!  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  14:52, 4/8/2014
Oops... I'm so sorry if that's the case. I never meant to do that. --DCLM 15:15, August 4, 2014 (UTC)
I thought they were simple rumours. --DCLM 15:18, August 4, 2014 (UTC)

Actually, spoilers are allowed on this page because User:SmallerOnTheOutside unilaterally locked the Series 8 page, so if any non-admins have a contribution to make, the only option is to post it here for an admin to see. Shambala108 19:15, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

Daleks

Daleks aren't a rumour anymore. They've been seen in the official trailer. Hylian Hobbit 18:13, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

Not necessarily. In the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 there is a scene of Voldemort grabbing Harry Potter's face asking him why he lives and Harry says because I have something worth living for. Although the scene was filmed, it was cut from final movie. --DCLM 11:58, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, yes. We have Daleks. It's revealed in some clips from the related episode. --DCLM 21:29, August 9, 2014 (UTC)
In which case they can be removed from the Rumours section. BBC News (which I think qualifies as a proper source) aired a clip of Capaldi and a Dalek from an upcoming episode in its coverage of the Cardiff launch event. What we don't know is which episode, because while I've seen some sites say a specific episode, in fact the BBC news item does not identify the episode, so that information is still uncertain and obviously off-limits. 23skidoo 16:35, August 11, 2014 (UTC)

Editing

I really don't mind there being no ability to edit the series 8 page apart from the fact they just announced 11 more episode titles. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dalekpirate (talk • contribs) 10:49, August 13, 2014.

Do you have a source? All I'm aware of is the BBC just confirmed "Into the Dalek" as episode 2's title which needs to be updated (and the whole Dalek thing definitely needs to be deleted from the rumors section); I'm having trouble finding the BBC announcement page otherwise I'd have added it myself (I understand fan sites are considered iffy so I can't use them). I've never known them to announce the finale title this far back since the title is often a spoiler so I very much doubt all 11 have been announced already. And of course any titles taken from leaked episodes/scripts can't count because they might be changed. 23skidoo 13:07, August 14, 2014 (UTC)
Well the site with the statement that I got this info from seems to have vanished of the face of the earth but considering it did say the correct 2nd episode title before it was on the bbc website I vouch for it I can give you the lost if you want. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dalekpirate (talk • contribs) .
Dalekpirate, it's policy to sign your posts on a talk page.
Please note that anything posted on the series 8 page needs to be properly sourced. The page gives links to our definition of proper sources. It's nothing personal, but your vouching for the information doesn't count.

I can now give you a link to the actual sorce on the bbc doctor who website

I suggest you drop a note at User talk:SmallerOnTheOutside to let him know that there are things to add to the page. He's the one who protected the page, so he's the logical one to add information. If you do post to his page, however, do not post any spoilers. Just tell him to come to this page and read your message. Shambala108 13:57, August 14, 2014 (UTC)
Here's a link: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-14/doctor-who-episode-2-synopsis-teases-that-the-doctor-could-change-the-daleks-forever Shambala, I've done as you suggested and notified SOTO.  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  21:05, 14/8/2014

Title sequence

Can information about the new fan-inspired title sequence be added? [1] P&P talk contribs 01:58, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
