Creation[]

I tried to (re)create this page, but cannot do so. Is it because it has previousy been deleted, or because the page has a block on it?? Geek Mythology 21:48, September 1, 2012 (UTC)

Can you change it to say she plays the new companion, clara

Technically, no. As she hasn't appeared on screen as the new companion in an actual canonical story (the trailer doesn't count), that would be against the spoiler policy. Geek Mythology 11:45, November 17, 2012 (UTC)

Well it is not a spoiler,we all know she is the new companion

(Don't forget to sign your posts by typing four of these: ~) You can read our Tardis:Spoiler policy to see why it is considered a spoiler here. Shambala108 15:23, November 17, 2012 (UTC)

It is not a spoiler as we all know who she plays, not a spoiler

Just because it may or may not be a "spoiler" itself, it is still against the "spoiler policy", which has several differences. And again, don't forget to sign your posts.Geek Mythology 16:34, November 17, 2012 (UTC)

Correct name?[]

Although she has so far been credited on Doctor Who as Jenna-Louise Coleman, and as such the title of this article is correct, she is starting to be referenced in media and elsewhere as Jenna Coleman -- to the extent that her IMDb listing has now been changed to show her shorter name. If it turns out that she has indeed shortened her name -- and if, say, the anniversary special credits reflect this, the article may need to be renamed. 70.72.201.229talk to me 05:19, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Jenna Coleman[]

Read this news article concerning her, which tells us that she is now using and will continue to use "Jenna Coleman" instead of "Jenna-Louise Coleman" is all situations including Doctor Who credits. But should we wait until she's actually credited as such in DWU-related work to start renaming and/or noting in the article, or is this good enough for us?

Radio Times is reputable and this appears to have come from the horse's mouth. I've added that link as a citation (someone has done the same on her Wikipedia article), but I'll leave it to an admin to decide on a page move. But I think the only reason Wikipedia hasn't moved their version is wikipedia:WP:COMMONNAME, a rule which I don't believe has an equivalent here. The discussion on Wikipedia at wikipedia:Talk:Jenna-Louise_Coleman#New_Name did suggest waiting for her next on-screen acting credit (which would be either the 50th anniversary DW episode or that period drama she was just announced to be in). Personally, I think that would be the final confirmation, but a collaborating article should also be sufficient evidence.  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  00:24,21/6/2013
Since she was introduced to HM QE2 as "Jenna Coleman", there is no reasonable doubt that she will be credited sans -Louise from here on out — or at least by the start of series 8. I've moved article, but left redirects behind. Our story articles should credit her with -Louise where she is so in titles or end credits, and so a redirect remains. Please don't bother with converting Jenna-Louise Coleman to Jenna Coleman. That's a waste of time.

Characters list[]

I think it's notable that Coleman played a number of distinct characters, especially when one considers each echo to have her own personality as we saw, so I made a list to point this out. I was tempted to include the elderly Clara from Last Christmas in the main list because Coleman completely changed her acting style for that part of the episode, but technically she was still playing Clara Oswald "prime" so I mentioned it alongside her multiple Claras in the DVD minisode. 68.146.233.86talk to me 14:34, March 2, 2016 (UTC)
