Shada[]

The planet Dronid (or Drornid, as the case may be) was first mentioned in the script for Shada, along with the skeleton of the backstory about a schismatic Time Lord President. Lawrence Miles took Douglas Adams' joke about the Time Lords forcing the rival President to come back by ignoring him, and ran with it, both in Alien Bodies and in The Book of the War (particularly its first appendix). The latter has, alas, been ruled "out of scope" for this wiki, but we should have something about the Shada reference. But which version? Gareth Roberts goes into some detail in his novelisation; I haven't gone back to check what the mentions are in the other versions. When there's a TV version and a novelisation, we generally go with the TV version, but of course the TV version of Shada was never finished. So which source should we cite? —Josiah Rowe talk to me 02:03, May 27, 2012 (UTC)

Abridged[]

I'm abridging this note to make it clearer (as the spellings used by Parkin are mostly irrelevant), but I'm leaving the full note here on the talk page because the original source page (and its oocities.com archive) are inaccessible at the moment.
