Second Doctor Visited in 1630?Edit

I find it very unlikely that the Second Doctor was the incarnation of the Doctor that visited the Monastery in 1630. Jamie is obviously unfamiliar with the monastery so unless the Doctor visited it between The Power of the Daleks and The Highlanders there really is no possible way that it could have been him. And I find it unlikely that this is the case as the Doctor talks as if it had been a very long time since he had visited the monastery. I find it much more likely that he was probably in his first incarnation when he visited the Monastery. Now yes you could argue that Padmasambhava would not have recognized the Doctor if he had previously visited as the First Doctor, but keep in mind that Padmasambhava was what Buddhists consider "enlightened" and might be able to see beyond the Doctor's physical appearance, not to mention that his connection with the Great Intelligence might also have had something to do with it. However, given the fact that there are quite a few contradictions for either the First or Second Doctors to have been the ones to have visited the Monastery in 1630, I think it would be best if we just simply say "the Doctor" visited the Monastery in 1630 and not definitively state which incarnation it was that visited it since no official source can confirm it. Stating that it was one particular incarnation of the Doctor would be nothing more than conjecture. –Nahald 07:43, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Actually I undid your edit for grammatical reasons. However, I'd like to address two things:
  • I have no problem with not stating a specific incarnation, though I personally believe the writers meant for it to be the Second. But that's just as much speculation as your assumption that Padma would have recognized Two. Since we do not edit based on assumptions it's best to be generic.
  • You state that there's no possible way the Second could have visited between Power and Highlanders. However, just for your information, there are many stories (novels, short stories, etc.) that take place between those two stories. So it's not impossible.
