No CGI in classic Doctor Who?[]

Not certain, given my lack of familiarity on the subject, but it seemed there was a couple of sporadic instances in 80s Doctor Who were CGI was in effect. No idea if it was accurate, but I think Mark Strickson referred to Rassilon's Tower as primitive CG in The Five Doctors' DVD commentary. And what about the 87-89 title and closing sequences? Were those really done as models?

Also, I sort of recall a wireframe display of some sort. No idea which episode though. -- Tybort (talk page) 15:07, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

There's a wire frame TARDIS in Warriors' Gate (TV story) and as you say there's the whole of the opening sequence of Time and the Rani (TV story) and the title sequence which was all computer generated. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:17, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

Which classic Doctor Who episodes have been released with new CGI?[]

Can anyone tell me which classic Doctor Who episodes have been released with new CGI?

I'm asking about the individual episodes, not just the serials. I've been able to find out that episodes 1, 3 and 4 of The Dalek Invasion of Earth have new CGI, while episodes 2, 5 and 6 do not. I think this would be worth adding to the articles. Gilgamesh de Uruk 11:36, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
