Rename[]

I agree with this rename. Should it perhaps be marked as a {{speedy rename}}? I can't see anyone disagreeing with it/ Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500) 12:37, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

Same. The original did have a lowercase 'm', but it's since been changed, so a rename is certainly in order. Danochy 12:42, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Okay, we can quickly close the case here, since it's just a matter of a capital "m". For what it's worth, since it was first released with the lowercase "m", that'll remain a redirect. OncomingStorm12th 13:06, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Uh… I'm sorry, what? If the "lower-case m" version was the title upon release, that is what we would traditionally go with, not any later title. I suppose we might look at this as a case of a typo being fixed — that is to say, if we assume that in the minds of the creators it was "A Message" all along, and "A message" was just a formatting error? — in which case the rename would be justified… but this doesn't seem to be a slam-dunk {{speedy rename}} matter at all, however minor the change. Where possible we use the title upon release, not the latest title. Scrooge MacDuck 20:10, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Ah ok. Without checking, I assumed that capital 'M' had been the title all along. Sorry. Bongo50 (aka Bongolium500) 20:26, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Bit of a strong reaction there Scrooge. It's pretty obvious that this is a formatting correction, I'm just sorry neither I nor OS12 felt the need to enunciate as such? It's not as if we're discussing the rename of An Unearthly Child based on a recent blog post which dubbed it "That Stone Age Nonsense". Danochy 21:36, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
To be entirely fair, that's a very relevant example. An Unearthly Child and The Daleks got those names a couple of decades post-mortem. I'd agree, broadly, that in most cases, the original name should apply. But I'd lean towards "formatting error" here, given the short gap between titles. If the title had been changed on a later re-release, we'd go for the original, though, for sure.
