Ta was the location of the vast argonite mines owned by the Issigri Mining Company. It orbited the star Pliny.
It was the location of the space pirate Maurice Caven's secret base. Caven threatened to blow up Ta, but he was stopped by the Second Doctor. (TV: The Space Pirates)
