The fifth issue of The Daredevils was cover dated May 1983. It was the third instalment to be of interest to this wiki, as the reprinted Spider-Man comics published in issues 1 through 4 were replaced with a reprint of Star Death from Doctor Who Magazine, and the first and fourth issues had other DWU links (through A Rag, a Bone, a Hank of Hair... and Killing Ground).

Over the next three issues, Doctor Who comics were reprinted in the magazine to give explicit context to the readers about the origins of the Special Executive team, who appeared in this issue in Executive Action, the fifth part of the flagship narrative of The Daredevils, where they interacted with and attempted to kidnap Captain Britain.

Additional details[]

  • The reprint of Star Death is slightly altered so that it is the Marvel's Merlyn who introduces the story instead of the Fourth Doctor. The text bubble referencing Gallifrey remain the same, however.
