The TARDIS kitchen was a kitchen in the Doctor's TARDIS.

During the Doctor's first incarnation, the food machine was in a different room to the kitchen. In fact, when Ian Chesterton light-heartedly complained about the nutrition bars from the machine, the Doctor mentioned the ship's kitchen to him, saying he was welcome to start cooking there if he wished. (PROSE: The Eleventh Tiger) When Chris Cwej visited the kitchen, the food machine located there, (PROSE: The Room With No Doors) although it was known to "wander" the corridors around that time. (PROSE: Christmas on a Rational Planet) Food machines quickly became obsolete in TARDISes and were replaced by full kitchens. (WC: Shada)

History[]

The Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot once made an unsuccessful attempt to find the kitchen. (AUDIO: Daughter of the Gods)

By the time of the Sixth Doctor, his ship did include a full kitchen; Evelyn Smythe used it multiple times to make breakfast, even when it was, in fact, the Doctor's turn to do so. She noted that the room automatically restocked itself: there were always exactly six eggs, a fresh pint of milk and freshly baked bread in the kitchen every morning. She used this to make scrambled eggs with toast, served with bacon and freshly-brewed tea, as well. (AUDIO: Project: Lazarus) He once promised to treat Constance Clarke to a homemade meal, but lost the kitchen. (AUDIO: Shield of the Jötunn)

Sam Jones told the Eighth Doctor's other companion Fitz Kreiner that the TARDIS didn't have a kitchen, just a food machine. Fitz, who preferred making meals himself, found a kitchen, but wasn't sure whether Sam simply hadn't known about it, or if it had been created for him. (PROSE: Autumn Mist)

The kitchen's milk often went fast. When musing himself how often the TARDIS landed on Earth for it, the Ninth Doctor was told by Rose Tyler that it happened about every six days. (TV: The Empty Child)

On one occasion, the Tenth Doctor cooked dinner in the TARDIS kitchen and scolded Rose-the-cat and K9 for fighting. (COMIC: A Rose by Any Other Name)

The Eleventh Doctor pointed out its location in his TARDIS to Captain Henry Avery. (TV: The Curse of the Black Spot) The Doctor rummaged through the kitchen in the middle of the night in search of a midnight feast, waking up Alice Obiefune in the process. Alice later used the kitchen to make herself a tuna sandwich. (COMIC: Midnight Feast) Amy Pond also used the kitchen to make dinner for herself, the Doctor and Rory. (COMIC: Sticks & Stones) Clara Oswin Oswald later asked him whether or not the TARDIS had a kitchen, where she wished to bake soufflés. The Eleventh Doctor claimed this to be the first time he was asked this. (TV: The Snowmen)
