Superjet Shot Down was a short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. Framed as the front page of an in-universe periodical, the titular article instead made reference to the Stingray content in the issue with a smaller piece tying-in to The Daleks comic story Power Play.

Worldbuilding[]

  • An Air Terrainean Mach 4 Fireflash airliner was shot down over the Brazilian jungle while on a routine flight from Brasilia to New York.
  • Trained rescue parties from Nova Iorque and Couta Magalhaes are hacking their way through the tangled undergrowth in an effort to reach the scene of the crash but Brazilian Air Traffic Control holds out little hope of finding any survivors.
  • This marks the first disaster suffered by Air Terrainean since the company took deliver of the Mach 4 Fireflash airliners eighteen months prior. The last crash was in April 2054 when a Concord Mark IX blew up over the Antarctic on a flight from Sydney to Buenos Aires. It ended the seventy-four years of Concord design aircraft.
  • The aircraft is pictured at London Airport.
