Steptoe and Son

Steptoe and Son was a British television series. While in hospital, John Benton recalled a scene from it where an old man dumped pickled onions in his bathwater. (PROSE: The Devil Goblins from Neptune [+]Martin Day and Keith Topping, BBC Past Doctor Adventures (BBC Books, 1997).)

Fitz Kreiner once tried to play "Interstellar Overdrive" by Pink Floyd on his electric guitar, but Anji Kapoor was so unimpressed that she thought he was attempting the Steptoe and Son theme song. (PROSE: The Slow Empire [+]Dave Stone, BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures (BBC Books, 2001).)

Behind the scenes[]

The old man that Benton is referring to is Albert Steptoe.

The given names for Halbert Jetsam and Arrold Flotsam established in COMIC: Junk-Yard Demon II are a reference to Albert and Harold Steptoe.
