Spanner

A spanner, or wrench, was a common tool.

In 2119, aboard the underwater mining base the Drum, a spanner was kept in a room entered by Tim Lunn trying to escape the ghost form of Richard Pritchard. The ghost picked up the spanner, preparing to finish Lunn off, but when it saw that Lunn did not see the mysterious writing on the wall of Albar Prentis's funeral spaceship, it dropped the spanner and walked out of the room. (TV: Under the Lake)

Harry Slocum, a technician at the Inferno Project, became infected by Stahlman's ooze and began to mutate into a Primord. He later used his spanner to murder a technician. (TV: Inferno)

As a Prydonian Academy student on Gallifrey, the First Doctor had a sonic wrench that was capable of creating time bubbles. (AUDIO: Devil in the Mist)

Within the Medusa Cascade, the Meta-Crisis Tenth Doctor kept the TARDIS on silent running "like on submarines when you can't even drop a spanner. Don't drop a spanner!" Soon after, while being questioned by Donna Noble, he spontaneously exclaimed "spanners!" (TV: Journey's End)

The Tenth Doctor claimed to have owned a laser spanner when sarcastically questioned by Martha Jones about his sonic screwdriver, saying that it was stolen by Emmeline Pankhurst, a "cheeky woman." (TV: Smith and Jones)

Jason Kane once hit an Oolonian repeatedly in his face to resuscitate him from a case of anoxia. (PROSE: Death and Diplomacy)
