Space weevils were an insect-like species about the size of a large dog. A group of space weevils infested Grugvengler's ship, the Boo to the Goose, and began killing and eating the captive humans on board the ship. When the Fourth Doctor, Leela and Connie Watson led an uprising against Grugvengler, several space weevils were killed. Grugvengler was left on his ship at the mercy of the remaining space weevils.
