Skenfrith was a town or village in the south-east of Wales. Just east of Skenfrith was the Welsh border with England.
Nearby small towns and villages included Monmouth to the south-east. Skenfrith was located on the west bank of a river which, when followed south-east, joined the River Wye.
Skenfrith appeared on Mary Cooper's map of overflow camps in and around Wales. (TV: The Categories of Life)
Behind the scenes
Skenfrith is a small village in Wales. It was used as a filming location for Upper Leadworth in the Doctor Who story Amy's Choice. Arthur Darvill noted that it was a very quiet village and they did not see anyone around while filming. (CON: Arthurian Legend)
