The Eleventh Doctor took his mother- and father-in-law, Amy Pond and Rory Williams, there for an anniversary present on 26 June 1890, their wedding anniversary. The hotel had only recently opened at that time. He assured them there would be no complications, only to discover there was a Zygon ship under the Savoy, and half of the staff were impostors.
