Sandra Elizabeth King was the full, married name of the only sister of Giles, the director of Preternatural Research Bureau, and shared his striking blue eyes.
The two were close growing up, but some time after her marriage to Harry King in 1991, the two had a falling out, with Sandra coming to see Giles as "mental" and cutting all ties with him despite his numerous attempts, over the following two decades, to reconnect with her. In 1998, a daughter was born to Sandra and Harry, Harriet. By 2019, the Kings lived in Guildford and Sandra had not changed her opinion of Giles. However, she sometimes shopped in London with her daughter, and on one such occasion, Giles saw them from afar, which was how he learned of Harriet's existence.
