Sandra was the mother of Melissa and the former wife of Jason. She and Jason were divorced by the time Melissa was eleven.
Because Melissa's birthday was on Christmas Day, it was a tradition in their family to celebrate it on 25 June, Melissa's half birthday. This tradition continued after the divorce, and it was the only time Melissa ever saw them together. When Melissa was eleven-and-a-half, the three went to WendiWorld. Sandra and Jason constantly argued over Sandra's boyfriend, upsetting Melissa so much that she unknowingly allowed herself to be controlled by an alien sprite that had been abandoned on Earth centuries ago.
