Sanaul was the business manager for A Charitable Earth.
History[]
He and Dorothy met during the relief operation on the Indonesian coast after a catastrophic cyclone hit, whilst he had been co-ordinating the emergency response teams, and Dorothy had been setting up a temporary hospital and arranging the delivery of medical supplies.
Dorothy admired how he handled crises and his good humour, and they became good friends quickly. When they flew back to Kerala, she took him out for a meal and offered him a job at A Charitable Earth. For the first year that he worked there, he wouldn't call her anything other than 'Miss McShane', which set Dorothy's teeth on edge. They compromised on 'Miss Dorothy'. His desk was located outside Dorothy's penthouse.
He alterted her to a Rintlekk ship that UNIT was tracking over Wasdale Head, later organising the testing of 'a new generating of inflatable boats and soecialised diving equipment', leading to Dorothy salvaging the escape pod after two days.
In January 2020, Dorothy told him to go to meetings at the World Ecology Bureau and the Disaster Recovery Committee in her place, to which he panicked as he only had four hours to prepare. He called her to tell he that every news channel was reporting the sighting of the Transit Station, to which Dorothy told him to clear her diary for the day.
He called the garage in the A Charitable Earth headquarters 'Miss Dorothy's Toybox'. (PROSE: At Childhood's End)
Appearance[]
In 2020, he was in his mid-sixties, and had a silver-grey beard and hair. He had dark skin, and always wore a sharp three-piece suit. (PROSE: At Childhood's End)
Personality[]
He couldn't sleep when there were "official accounts that needed to be dealt with". He disapproved of Dorothy not attending meetings and having to go in her place, which happened often, and of her wearing boots and leggings instead of formal attire. He liked to thoroughly prepare for every possibility and panicked when he didn't have enough time to. He had excellent attention to detail and could stay calm in a crisis. He had a good sense of humour and saw Dorothy as a kindred spirit and was one of her close friends.
He was often sceptical of what Dorothy claimed to be able to do, especially when it was illegal, but was often proven wrong. (PROSE: At Childhood's End)
