Ruby Road was a road in Manchester, where a church was located.

History[]

On Christmas Eve 2004, a baby girl was abandoned on the doorstep of the church on Ruby Road (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who Christmas Special 2023 (BBC One and Disney+, 2023).) by her mother, (PROSE: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, adapted from The Church on Ruby Road (Russell T Davies), BBC Books novelisations (BBC Books, 2024).) and had to be saved from goblins by the Fifteenth Doctor and returned to the church so she could be found and adopted by Carla Sunday, who named the baby "Ruby" after the road she had been found on. (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who Christmas Special 2023 (BBC One and Disney+, 2023)., PROSE: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson, adapted from The Church on Ruby Road (Russell T Davies), BBC Books novelisations (BBC Books, 2024).)

A VHS cassette held a recording of Ruby Road and the events that occured that night. Ruby Sunday later acquired it. With the Doctor and UNIT's support, they used a time window in 2024 to recreate the events of that night. In doing so, they created an exact copy of Ruby Road within UNIT headquarters. However, the Doctor noted that the events that happened on the road kept changing. Later, after the first time window recreation was ceased, Ruby returned to the time window and a second recreation of Ruby Road from that night was created again. (TV: The Legend of Ruby Sunday [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 14 (BBC One and Disney+, 2024).)

When the Doctor joined Ruby in the time window recreation, he had bring the Memory TARDIS to life. Sutekh, with the help of the Harbinger, traveled back in time to Christmas Eve, 2004 in order to communicate with the Doctor through the time window, seeking answers of his own about Ruby's mother, but the Doctor and his companions escaped in the Memory TARDIS.

After Sutekh's defeat, the Doctor told Ruby that UNIT had finished cleaning up the VHS tape which revealed that Ruby's mother, now identified as Louise Miller, had really been pointing at the Ruby Road signpost. It was actually Louise who had named her daughter after Ruby Road, not the social workers or the paramedics as Ruby had always believed. (TV: Empire of Death [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 14 (BBC One and Disney+, 2024).)
