Following part of the river from north-east to south-west, it ran from just west of Gloucester, snaked past Frampton on Severn then continued south-west, passing between Lydney on its west bank and Sharpness on its east. (TV: The Categories of Life [+]Jane Espenson, Torchwood series 4 (Starz, 2011).) The base of the river was located in Gloucestershire. The River Severn appeared on Mary Cooper's map of overflow camps in and around Wales. (TV: The Categories of Life [+]Jane Espenson, Torchwood series 4 (Starz, 2011).)

According to Fowler, the base of the River Severn and the Azores were the only places in the world with the correct topography for wind and fog to coexist. (AUDIO: Return of the Nightmare [+]Error: Code 2 - no data stored in variables, cache or SMW.)

Behind the scenes[]

The full name "River Severn" does not appear on the map in The Categories of Life, but part of the name ("evern") does. The full name was later confirmed in Return of the Nightmare.
