Red Square was a city square in Moscow, Russia.
History
On 7 November 1967, the Seventh Doctor, Ace, Markus Creevy and Raina Kerenskaya attended the ceremony in Red Square marking the fiftieth anniversary of the October Revolution. They saw Yuri Gagarin and Valentina Tereshkova, the first person and the first woman in space respectively, on the podium. The Doctor explained to Ace that the celebration of the October Revolution was held in November as Russia was still using the Julian calendar, which was eleven days behind the Gregorian calendar, in 1917. A few months later in April 1968, the Revolution Man branded the Square with his symbol. A 29 April Pravda article reported that the Moscow Cement Workers Co-operative No. 284 donated 300 tonnes of cement to repair the damage. Leonid Brezhnev made a speech saying that the Soviet Union, thinking the Americans were to blame, might respond with war should it happen again. (PROSE: Revolution Man)
